Lesson 13. EASY Bots — What Makes Them Different and How to Start Safely
Auto-adaptation to regimes (volatility/trend), smart risk engine, protections (ATR/news/spread/slippage/circuit breakers), 70+ metrics and transparent stats, versioning/updates. Not a black box: public parameters, verification, honest communication. Start on demo with checklists.
13.1. What EASY Bots are (philosophy and scope)
- Data-first automation with risk-first defaults. No profit guarantees; clear limits and assumptions.
- Designed for MT5: attach to chart, public inputs, logs, presets; built to be monitored with 70+ metrics.
- Demo-first adoption: validate on demo or micro live before scaling.
13.2. Auto-adaptation & Smart Risk Engine
- Regime awareness: volatility/trend context adjusts exposure and trade frequency (e.g., reduce size in high ATR regimes).
- Smart risk engine: per-trade risk (0.25–1%), daily/weekly stops, streak pauses, max open risk cap.
- Time windows: avoid rollover and high-impact news (blackouts), trade only in configured sessions.
13.3. Protections (ATR/news/spread/slippage/circuit breakers)
ATR band
Trade only when ATR(14) percentile within [low, high] (e.g., 20–80).
Spread cap
Skip entries if spread > X pips or > 1.5× median.
Slippage cap
Reject fills if slippage > Y pips.
News blackout
Avoid ±(15–30) minutes around high-impact events.
Circuit breaker
Pause if intraday DD ≥ Z%.
Safe Defaults
13.4. 70+ metrics and transparent analytics
Dashboards show the same metrics you read in MT5 reports, plus stability/costs; compare periods and set alerts. Encourage journaling: weekly PF/Expectancy/DD notes.
- PF
- Expectancy
- Win rate
- Avg trade
13.5. Versioning & updates (changelogs)
Versioned releases with change notes; rollback path; compatibility and migration notes in each release. Users can compare performance pre/post update; no forced changes without documentation.
Sample Changelog
- v1.4.2: improved volatility detector; tightened slippage caps; fixed rollover bug.
- v1.4.1: added ATR percentile filter; optimized entry timing; updated news blackout logic.
- v1.4.0: major release with regime awareness; new risk engine parameters; breaking changes documented.
13.6. Why EASY ≠ 'black box'
| Feature | EASY Bots | Black Box |
|---|---|---|
| Public parameters & docs | All inputs documented; logic explained | Hidden settings; no clear docs |
| Verification (read-only MT5, FXRobotEasy Analytics) | Track record verified; public stats | Cherry-picked screenshots only |
| Transparent drawdowns & limits | Show losses; honest DD reporting | Only winning periods shown |
| Risk defaults (0.25–1%, stops) and protections | Conservative defaults; safety-first | Aggressive settings; no safeguards |
| Versioning & changelogs | Full version history; rollback path | Silent updates; no documentation |
| Honest communication (no profit promises) | Realistic expectations; risk disclosure | Guaranteed returns; hype marketing |
