From Signal to Trade — Confluence, Timing, Skip Logic
Turn daily signals into higher‑quality trades by adding simple filters. Use S/R + MA(20/50) + RSI(14), watch ATR regime, pick liquid hours, avoid funding spikes/maintenance, and skip when costs/volatility/time are wrong. Practice two decisions (Take/Pass) and write a 5‑line mini‑playbook.
6.1Confluence primer: S/R + MA(20/50) + RSI(14) + ATR regime
- Support/Resistance (S/R): prefer entries away from nearby barriers; 'fresh air' improves follow‑through.
- MA(20/50) trend: up bias when MA20 > MA50 and both slope up; down bias when MA20 < MA50 and both slope down; flat = mixed.
- RSI(14): >70 often overheated for new longs; <30 overheated for new shorts (unless reversal plan — not here).
- ATR(14) regime: percentile bands — low (<30), mid (30–70), high (>70); higher ATR demands wider buffers and stops (Lesson 4 & 5).
Filters are not magic; they reduce low‑quality entries.
Support/Resistance (S/R)
Prefer entries away from nearby barriers; 'fresh air' improves follow-through.
Best: >2×ATR from major S/R levels
MA(20/50) Trend
Up bias when MA20 > MA50 and both slope up; down bias when MA20 < MA50 and both slope down.
Align trade direction with MA bias for higher probability
RSI(14)
>70 often overheated for new longs; <30 overheated for new shorts (unless reversal plan — not here).
Neutral zone (30-70) typically safer for entries
ATR(14) Regime
Percentile bands — low (<30), mid (30–70), high (>70); higher ATR demands wider buffers and stops.
Mid-range ATR (30-70) provides best balance of opportunity and manageability
6.2Confluence checker (interactive scoring)
6.3Timing planner: sessions, maintenance, funding windows
Select windows when you can monitor/manage trades
Many exchanges fund every 8 hours
Check exchange announcements for scheduled maintenance windows
Guidance for H1:
Fewer decisions; set alerts/pending before your windows; recheck hourly.
6.4Skip logic gate: costs/vol/time sanity
Fees and funding eat too much of potential profit
High volatility increases unpredictability and slippage risk
Too close to funding time; may face unexpected costs
Exchange may be unavailable or unstable during maintenance
Low liquidity period; wider spreads and poor execution
Decision:
Conditions OK
Proceed if confluence and plan align.
6.5Practice: two decisions (Take/Pass) with rationale
Open BTCUSDT daily or weekly forecast. Pick two scenarios (A & B). Decide Take or Pass with confluence/timing/skip logic.
